What does registration pay for? We often get some questions on what exactly the registration fees cover, so we thought we'd share those details with everyone.
Q: What does registration pay for?
A: Registration fees cover:
- Affiliation dues (MBYLL, MBGLL Town Fees and Insurance)
- Referees
- Game / practice equipment (goals, balls, goalie equipment, long shafts for u13 boys, first aid kits, coaches equipment, line painting supplies)
- Lacrosse Balls - one of our largest expenses each year.
- Coaches certification and continuing education programs
- Indoor practice time and skills sessions
- Field time (parks & recreation department fee and turf rental fields)
- Jamboree fees
- Scholarships
- Fiscally prudent reserves
All of the above is primarily funded by your child’s registration fee. Our annual fundraiser, business sponsorships help to supplement registration fees, but the majority of the funds come from registration. Some of the above costs go up every year, but MYL works to stabilize costs over time. Overwhelmingly our success is driven by the level and cxommitment of parent volunteers. If you like your experience consider some small volunteer opportunities. Every bit helps.
